Notes:
We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, or sex.
If you apply for School Choice funds and use them to pay for our program, you are responsible for paying all fees that the ESA funding doesn't cover, up to and including tuition, even in the event that School Choice doesn't make a payment to us.
Res Novae Academy, Jennifer Ludy, is an approved tutor through the Alabama Department of Revenue for accepting School Choice funding.
We do not perform standardized testing. ACT, SAT, CAT, or any similar testing. We will be looking to add these options for families as part of our future growth plan.
We do test students only in Math & Language Arts to determine what skills they have and which skills they need to work on. This is required for the admissions in level 2 and above. We test students to gauge their understanding and mastery of materials to ensure they are ready to advance to the next level. If you are utilizing ESA (School Choice funding), we are required to test each year and provide you with the results.
Testing and assessment methods: Students will be accessed through various forms that meet their needs. Students will have quizzes, verbal narration, and project-based opportunities to demonstrate understanding.
Students in levels 1 -3 (except grade 9) will receive a mastered or not mastered designation.
Students in Grade 9 and level 4 will receive a numerical grade necessary to establish transcripts.
You have 2 options for students of compulsory school age:
1) Attend as an independent homeschool student: You are a designated "non-public" school student under Alabama law (Act 2014-245 / SB 38). As a parent, you are directing the education of your child. You are responsible for creating and implementing the educational program for your student of compulsory school age.
